With a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications degree, you’ll learn to create powerful and effective mobile and online strategic communication plans and persuasive integrated marketing strategic communication campaigns. Learn modern research techniques and message construction as well as post campaign analysis. Insightful projects will allow you to graduate with a portfolio that will get you noticed and prepare you to succeed in a variety of communication fields.
The Strategic Communication program gives you basic communication, public relations and media production skills. Writing for a variety of editorial platforms, including print and broadcast news, digital media (blogs, websites, social media, corporate communication) and marketing, is emphasized throughout. In addition, the Strategic Communications program focuses course work on public relations research, crisis management and social media strategies. The Strategic Communications Bachelor of Science program is designed for students who wish to prepare for rapidly expanding opportunities in business communication, digital marketing, social media management and web development.

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the major communication theories and their histories that are the foundation to understanding the discipline of communication. These theories can be applied to interpersonal, group, organizational, intercultural, and mass communication contexts. You will be expected to understand the key concepts of each theory and be able to apply them to everyday life situations, events, and/or communication artifacts.
This course is an intensive look at group and social processes as they affect individual behavior. Human experiences such as individual motivation, group behavior, attitudes, and perception of self and others are studied from the viewpoints of social science and Scripture.
In this course you will develop a thorough and practical understanding of the standards and conventions used in creating useable and accessible websites, while gaining the experience of creating a website using standards-compliant XHTML and CSS by incorporating standard web-based design software. By the end of this course you will have developed an understanding of the functions and uses of the web and be able to create business-suitable websites that are usable and accessible.
